Dean - I agree that it's definitely a ponderable work, but if we dig deep enough, we can always find the Hollywood stank attached somewhere. I don't know if you read my thoughts on the subject, for what they're worth. You can find them here. http://bit.ly/bDZbwA

Ken's book is a fantastic and required 'travel guide' to Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod hardware interface. Read it before you venture out to talk to Apple about getting in their programs that will allow you to build your super hardware for the 30 pin connector.

Until your are approved and inside the Apple hardware programs, you will feel like you are 'missing something' and you are. Ken's book will help you with these insecurities and you get over the hurdles.

The book comes at the design of an accessory from the software side, but does a very good job of covering all aspects of the system; hardware, software and business.

Hopefully Apple will open up in the future, till then Ken's book is a must read before adventuring to the exotic and foreign land of iPhone OS Accessories. Don't leave home without it!

Things seem to go pretty quick if you reserve via Apple Store "app", the weak link in the chain seems to be AT&T's verification servers.

Dump Obj C??????? That's the most elegant and powerful language I've ever worked on! Is that just because the syntax is a bit weird when you try it for the time?

Yea, dump Objective-C Apple! That language is a pain to deal with. Even after tutorials I have followed, I can't "memorize" it like the .NET languages. If they don't, then at least add more languages.
